Become a collector

Earn points for recording what’s true on the ground near you.

  1. 1. Visit clinics, schools, water points and markets close to home.
  2. 2. Points for every task we accept. The organisation you collect for sets how they are reimbursed.
  3. 3. Your records answer questions researchers are asking right now.

What the work is, what each task earns, and the code of conduct

What this form asks

  • Your name and phone number — so somebody can ring you about a task
  • The languages you speak — so a task is written in one of them
  • Where you live — so you are offered tasks near you; it is kept as you give it, and the terms say who sees it
  • How far you can travel, and by what — so you are not offered somewhere you cannot reach
  • Your phone and whether you have data — so the app is not asking something your phone cannot do
  • What you do, and anything relevant — a few words is enough
  • One reference — a name and a way to reach them. Somebody will ring them

What Aangus never asks for

an ID number of any kind, your address, bank details, your religion, your ethnicity. There is nowhere in the system to put them.

Where you live

Two numbers, the longitude and the latitude. It is kept as you give it; the terms you accept say who sees it.

How far you can travel, in minutes

Leave a box empty if that is not how you get about.

One reference

Somebody who knows you and will answer the phone. They will be rung before anything else happens.

The three things you agree to
So you can sign in afterwards

You will need this to see where your application has got to, and to take tasks once you are accepted.

At least ten characters. Aangus never sees it.

A person reads every application and rings your reference before anything else happens. You can ask to be removed at any point.
