Aangus Scholars
Ability, wherever it is.
How Aangus Scholars are selected.
Aangus Scholars join from grade six onward, identified through schools and teachers in the areas where Aangus reporters operate.
Three tiers.
Aangus Scholars move through three tiers. Each tier includes more than the one before it.
Enrolled
School, materials, and the coursework that keeps an Aangus Scholar level with the curriculum. Every Aangus Scholar begins here, and no Aangus Scholar loses it.
Advanced
Specialised coursework in the sciences and the arts, built by professionals working in those fields. Silver is where an Aangus Scholar moves ahead of the syllabus.
Beyond
Competition, further scholarships, equipment, and placements. Gold is where an Aangus Scholar is backed beyond school.
Aangus Scholars progress at their own pace. Bronze covers everything needed to finish school and is never withdrawn.
Olympiads
International competition, sponsored, against the best students in the world.
Scholarships
Support toward graduate study, beyond anything the Foundation alone would carry.
Equipment
Laptops and the tools a serious student needs to keep going.
Placements
Introductions made on an Aangus Scholar's behalf, into work that matches what they can do.
Gold is funded separately, through Aangus Corporation and through Aangus Friends who choose to support an Aangus Scholar further. The Foundation covers school; Gold covers what comes after it.

Why the tiers exist.
The tiers exist to give Aangus Scholars a reason to keep going. An Aangus Scholar who knows what the next tier includes has something specific to work toward, which funding on its own does not provide.
What Aangus Scholars go on to do.
Aangus Scholars come from areas with the fewest qualified professionals, and most return to work there.
